As Cavvami marks its first decade, with the craftsmanship that we had continued to create and preserve, we reflect on what heritage means to us. Through Cavvami Laras, we bring heritage into today. Its handwoven upper and Kawung-inspired beadwork pay homage to the craft we preserve and the culture we choose to bring, reinterpreted through a silhouette made for today.
Guiding these stories is our muse, Rania Yamin, who has found her own way of preserving culture through how she dresses, writes, and tells stories. For her, every story carries a meaning worth passing on.
Through Weaving Heritage, we explore the different dimensions of heritage not as simply from the past, but as something we can continue to weave, into the present, into the lives of others, and into the future.
